In its report, a technology solutions company OriginAll names Ghana as a major transit point for the illicit shipment of gold.

Other major illegal gold trading routes are Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda with export destinations being Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, and India.

The report further indicates that Local gold refineries are being extensively used to launder gold from illicit sources in an artisanal mining sector involving several million people, forced labour, and high risks.

OriginAll is an organization that provides technology solutions to brands and governments to tackle counterfeiting and illicit trade.
