This edition of the program focuses on Countries’ preparedness towards another rainy season.
Last years, floods hit Nigeria, Chad, and the DRC among others.
Cumulatively, around 7 million were displaced as a result of the disaster which similarly devastated 1.6 million hectares of farmland, washed crops and livestock and put the livelihoods of communities at risk.
From all the research and data collected about the floods in 2022, there must have been lessons learnt, lapses seen as well as plans and new measures adopted.
In Countries like Liberia, Cote D’Ivoire and Niger, authorities have embarked on massive expansion, reconstruction and construction of waterways and drainages to minimise the risk of flooding this year.
