Three coastal states in the ECOWAS subregion threatened by the fast-spreading violent extremism from the Sahel will receive long-term assistance from the United States.
Officials from the U.S. State Department identified Cote D’Ivoire, Benin and Togo as the beneficiary countries.
This announcement came shortly after Vice President Kamala Harris’s three-nation tour of the continent in March.
