Still in Senegal, the countrymarks its 63rd Independence Day anniversary today 4th April 2023.
The day is commemorated annually after the country gained independence from France on April 4, 1960.
The people of Senegal on this fateful day, remember and pay homage to their heroes in their battle for independence. It is also a festivity of their rich traditions and cultural heritage.
The day fills the air with indigenous music, which is a blend of vocals and Wolof instrumentations, not forgetting the traditional dance and special dishes that also make the day different and nostalgic.
