In Togo, gender-based violence is a reality, according to the latest results of the Afrobarometer survey published yesterday, Wednesday, on the occasion of International Women’s Day on the 8th of March.
A statistic this time, know that one in three women in the world has been sexually abused or beaten at least once in her life.
Yet, a woman victim of violence who files a complaint will be heard by the authorities but is exposed to criticism and humiliation from the community despite the harm she has experienced.
