Trial of ex-Guinean PM Ibrahima Fofana postponed

the trail of former prime minister Ibrahima Kassory Fofana and two senior government officials have been postponed to February 28.

The judge of the criminal chamber of the Supreme Court made the announcement after listening to various parties in the case.

Recall Fofana, Mohamed Oyé Guinée and Lounceny Nabé, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea have been detained since April 6, 2022.

While they seek to be granted provisional release, the personalities were accused of embezzlement of public funds, money laundering, corruption and illicit enrichment.

They were officials that served under the regime of former president Alpha Conde who was ousted by special forces commander, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya.
