Amnesty International has condemned the abduction and killing of Martinez Zogo, a journalist in Cameroon.
Abducted on January 17, Zogo’s lifeless body was found on 22 January near Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital.
Although the government has opened an investigation into his death, Amnesty says a thorough process should be undertaken and the perpetrators brought to book.
This is not the first time a journalist had died mysteriously in the Central African nation.
In 2020, Samuel Ajiekah Abuwe a journalist also known as Wazizi died in detention after he was arrested by the defence and security forces in August 2019.
To date, no findings have been made public by state officials.
