The regional securities exchange of West Africa Economic and Monetary Union WAEMU has been resilient for the year 2022 according to the Director General of BRVM, Dr. Edoh Kossi Amenounve.
Speaking at a press conference on developments in 2022 and prospects for 2023, he said despite a global economic situation deemed difficult, the financial institution remains optimistic for the year ahead.
According to him, 2022 was an excellent year that allowed the regional stock exchange to have a capitalization of 7.5 billion CFA francs.
BRVM recorded a bond market that has grown with 19 new listings for about 2.4 billion CFA francs of resources raised. Data that allows the organization to strengthen its position on the continent as the 6th African stock exchange.
In addition, the indicators show a transaction volume that has increased by 3.02% with more than 255 million shares traded in 2022 against about 247 million shares in 2021.
