Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor says the Armed Forces Remembrance Day offers an opportunity to showcase patriotic Nigerians who willingly laid down their lives so that others might sleep in peace. 

The military chief who remarked during the ceremony that concluded a series of activities to mark this year’s event on Sunday in Abuja stated that the day also celebrates servicemen and women who are still making sacrifices for the fatherland.
