Malians took to the streets after the country’s ruling military called for protests against stringent sanctions imposed by the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) over delayed elections.
In an interview with WADR, a governance expert in Bamako, Moses Kambul, said the rally at the Central Square in Bamako is in support of the military junta adding that Russia’s Wagner, China and Sweden’s support to fighting insecurity is more profitable to the country than the presence of the French troops who were withdrawn out of embattled Mali some weeks ago.
