Police in Mali says two people have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a German priest.

According to the police, two people are currently being questioned at a station in Bamako.

The authorities say such a kidnapping would be an exceptional occurrence in the capital, relatively protected from insecurity, while kidnappings, including of Christian men and women, have been numerous elsewhere in Mali.
