The citizen think tank WATHI on Thursday, organized a virtual roundtable on the effectiveness of defence and security forces in the Sahel and West Africa. 

The keynote speaker Hassane Koné, a senior researcher at the Institute for Security Studies and an expert on security sector reform, emphasized the danger that Burkina Faso faces if authorities do not properly supervise the anticipated 50 thousand volunteers to be recruited to fight terrorists alongside regular soldiers
