The trial of an alleged former rebel commander in Liberia’s first civil war will open in France on October 10, 2022.
Kunti K 48 years old, was the former commander of the United Liberation Movement of Liberia for Democracy (ULIMO), a rebel group that was active during the country’s first civil war from 1989 to 1996.
As Abdullahi Hassan reports, the rebel commander indicted for the crimes of torture, sexual violence and barbaric acts such as cannibalism, was arrested in Paris by the French police in 2018.
