In Ghana, research into the activities of political campaign financing has revealed that persons engaged in illicit activities provide funds to presidential candidates to get juicy contracts in return. 

The work undertaken by a think tank, the Centre for Democratic Development Ghana, CDD also highlighted the growing monetization in the country’s politics.
