In Cote d’Ivoire, on Monday, the United States Embassy in Abidjan announced the arrival 816,660 additional doses of Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19. The latest donation through USAID, has now given Côte d'Ivoire nearly 5 million doses of vaccine as part of the COVAX initiative and in partnership with UNICEF, since August 2021
“The United States is providing these vaccines because we fully support our Ivorian partners in the fight against Covid-19,” said United States Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire Richard Bell.
“With the recent global spread of the Omicron variant, it is essential that all eligible people get vaccinated. ", Continued the American diplomat, estimating that as long as the virus Covid-19 spreads anywhere, it constitutes a threat for the whole world.
To date, the United States has delivered more than 350 million doses of vaccine to more than 110 countries.
