48 hours after the World Health Organization (WHO) called for the cancelation of events during the festive season due to the fast spread of the Omicron variant of the covid19 in countries across the world, an expert with the UN health agency says studies are ongoing to fully understand the new variant.
WHO put the death toll from the virus in 2021 at 3.3 million representing the overall death from HIV, tuberculosis, and Malaria in 2020.
