A Canadian foundation, Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), through an initiative tagged “Saving Lives and Livelihoods,” has delivered over 3.3 million doses of Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines to Nigeria.
The vaccines, which arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria's capital, were delivered to a representative of the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) who in turn handed them over to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Nigeria’s agency in charge of vaccination, for cold storage and distribution to vaccination centers across the country.
