Two Ivorian army positions were attacked in the north-east of the country in Tehini and Bouko in the Bouna region.

This new attack resulted in the death of an assailant and two gendarmes were injured.

According to a security source, early Tuesday morning an observation post of the Ivorian Defence and Security Forces was the target of an attack on the Tehini-Gogo road.

Another position based in Bouko on the Doropo-Bouna axis was also attacked the same day.

The authorities say the Defence and Security Forces repelled attacks. The provisional death toll shows one attacker killed and two elements of the FDS seriously injured.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Tehini, near the border with Burkina Faso, has been the target of terrorist attacks since 12 June 2021, which have always been vigorously repelled by the the Ivorian army.

Recent attacks in northern Côte d'Ivoire near the border with Burkina Faso date back to 29 March.

Two army positions in Kafolo were attacked, leaving six dead, three soldiers and three terrorists.
