The British High Commission in Ghana released a statement advising British nationals to avoid public gatherings.

This comes after protests were held in Ejura in the Ashanti region after social activist, Kaaka Mohammed, was brutally murdered in his home.

The unarmed protesters were met by police and soldiers who fired at them, leading to two deaths and several injuries.

Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson has the story from Accra.
