Port users in Liberia protested on Monday against APM Terminals, saying that the company is inefficient. APM Terminals is an international container terminal operating company.

The protesters cited limited manpower and equipment as gaps in the company’s operations which results in delays in removal of cargos and high tariffs.

The national port authority has called on the company to address the concerns of port users, saying that failure to do so would amount to economic sabotage.

Citizens complain that delays in releasing goods and high charges on cargos are resulting in soaring prices of basic goods and commodities on the local market.

Malcolm Scott is the spokesman for Liberia’s National Port Authority.
