At least nineteen people were killed over the weekend in Niger, during an attack on the village of Gaïgorou, in the Tillabéri region near Mali.
An official of the municipality of Dessa which administers the village of Gaïgorou told AFP that the attack resulted in nine deaths and injuries to two people.
He said that armed men who came on motorcycles perpetrated the attack.
