Latest statistics from the Motor Traffic & Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, indicates that 2021 road accident deaths have so far surpassed the total number of Covid-19 casualties since March 2020.

These deaths represent a 29.58% increase from the same period in 2020.
