The ECOWAS Parliament says it will reassess its election monitoring mechanisms in order to strengthen the human and financial resources. This is part of the legislatures plan to achieve the objectives defined in the ECOWAS protocol on democracy and good governance.
Speaking during the commemoration of the 1st anniversary of the 5th legislature, speaker of parliament Muhammed Sidie Tunis, noted that some challenges had been faced during the monitoring of recent elections in the sub region.
