Senegal is expected to receive over 320,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine today.
The country will join a list of others within the sub region including Ghana and Nigeria, to receive the vaccine, made available free of charge by the Covax initiative led by the World Health Organization and the Vaccine Alliance (GAVI).
Announcing the arrival of the vaccine, minister for Health and Social Action, Dr. Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr said more 1.2 Million doses are expected to vaccinate the priority targets as soon as possible, in order to break the chain of transmission.
