First time voters in Ghana are overwhelmed and excited about their opportunity to exercise their franchise in today’s (December 7) election.

According to the electoral commission, first-time voters between 18 and 21 years old make up the largest chunk of the age demography with voters within this age bracket representing 15.5% which is 2,635,050 million voters.

While the North East Region has recorded the highest registered first-time voters, the greater Accra region has the smallest number.

Aziz Pelpuo with WADR partner station W Fm in the Upper West region has been speaking to some of the over 96,000 first time voters in his region.
