The armed conflict in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions continues unabated despite a called national dialogue by the government over a year ago.

The government called the dialogue to find a way of resolving the conflict which was sparked by residents of the Anglophone regions who claimed to be marginalized by the majority French-speaking regions.

According to official figures, over 3000 people have been killed in fighting between the national army and separatists fighting for independence for the Anglophone regions.

Willy Broad is a Cameroonian political analyst. He explains why the national dialogue has not lead to tranquility in the Anglophone regions.
