Sierra Leone’s domestic revenue surged to $1.3 billion in August 2024, up from $1.2 billion in July 2024, marking a 7.09% increase, according to the August Fiscal Report.

This rise highlights positive fiscal dynamics, as the government continues to improve revenue collection strategies and enhance economic stability.

From January to August 2024, domestic revenue has shown consistent growth. Starting at a $1 billion in January, the revenue increased steadily each month, with the cumulative total reaching nearly $11 billion by the end of August, up from $9.6 billion in July. This represents an overall growth of 13.06%, driven primarily by stronger tax compliance and increased economic activity across several sectors.

The month-over-month growth between July and August reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen revenue mobilization and recover from past economic challenges.
