Seaport terminal operators are urging the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to invest in dockworker training, utilizing the 0.5% stevedoring levy collected from terminal operators.

This call to action was made during the 2024 Dockworker’s Day event, themed “Dockworkers: Key to Unlocking Nigeria’s Blue Economy,” organized by the Shipping Correspondents Association of Nigeria (SCAN) and the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria.
