President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, on the occasion of his first trip to the United States for the Summit of the Future, attracted quite some attention after meeting with several world leaders.

Arriving in New York on Saturday, September 21, he participated in the opening ceremony of the Future Summit on Sunday, an event organized on the sidelines of the 79th United Nations General Assembly.
In parallel with this meeting, the Senegalese head of state received Luc Frieden, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in Dakar on Monday.
On the same day, President Faye met with Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of Belgium. Their discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, focusing on strategic sectors and shared values.
Another highlight of the day was the meeting between President Faye and Bill Gates. As indicated by the presidency, the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Senegal and the Gates Foundation.
