Reports have emerged in Niger about the departure of a US delegation that arrived in Niamey this week to meet with the interim President General Abdourahmane Tiani.
Sources say the Americans left the Niger mission unaccomplished after the CNSP leader failed to receive them.
The delegation was due to stay for two days to continue discussions with the new authorities in Niamey, almost eight months after the military coup in Niger.
The representatives finally extended their visit by one day to try to meet General Tiani but left without having been received.
