A joint study conducted by the World Bank, the International Labor Organization, and UNESCO in 2023, says TVET needs to adapt to globalization, technological progress, demographic transformation, and climate change
The study outcome shows that Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) systems in many low- and middle-income countries do not match skills and labor market needs and are unprepared to meet the large rise in demand for TVET in the coming years
This is a wakeup call for the growing youthful population in Africa, particularly Governments and NGOs on the continent.
There are essential needs for vibrant TVET systems across Africa, some of which will be spoken about throughout this episode.
But before we continue, WADR’s Sankulleh Janko provides a report about efforts being made by the Gambia’s Higher Education towards revamping the Country’s TVET Sector for young people.
