Ghana’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, PURC has announced a decrease in electricity tariffs effective December 1, 2023.
This adjustment aligns with the Commission’s Quarterly Tariff Review Mechanism, considering factors like the US$ to Ghana Cedi exchange rate, domestic inflation, electricity generation mix, and fuel costs, particularly natural gas.
Water tariffs on the other hand have seen an increase of 0.34% for the same period, based on similar key indicators used by the Commission.
