The Ghanaian government, as part of the 2024 budget, has earmarked over 18 million dollars to aid relief efforts for communities impacted by the Akosombo Dam spillage floods.
Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta disclosed this information during the budget presentation on Wednesday, November 15.
He further mentioned that additional resources would be allocated through the Ministry of Agriculture to assist in the restoration of livelihoods.
Ofori-Atta expressed the government’s sympathy for the families affected and displaced by the spillage.
