At least 70 civilians, predominantly elderly individuals and children, lost their lives in an attack on the village of Zaongo in northern Burkina Faso earlier this month.
According to a statement from the Burkinabe public prosecutor on Monday, unidentified assailants targeted the village in the country’s North-central region on November 5, carrying out the assault by killing residents and setting properties on fire.
