The High Court of the Gambia has dismissed the state’s request for an extension to submit their defense in the case brought by the families of the victims of Acute Kidney Injuries.
This decision follows the expiration of the state’s 90-day grace period for an extension.
The court has also imposed a fine of D10, 000 on the state for its perceived lack of initiative in advancing the case and for its failure to attend the pre-trial hearing.
Our correspondent in Banjul, Sankulleh Janko, was present at the court and filed this report.
