A mediation dialogue commenced yesterday, Monday, between the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the opposition All People’s Congress (APC).
The talks aim to break the political stalemate in the country, particularly in the aftermath of the June 24 elections after elected officials from the APC camp chose to boycott their seats.
Overseeing the mediation are representatives from the Commonwealth, the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
As Abdullahi Hassan reports, the opposition continuously claims that the election was characterized by irregularities.
