Vote counting is currently underway in Liberia following the official close of Tuesday’s election to choose a president and members of parliament.

Elections observers say that the October 10 general elections saw an unprecedented large turnout.

This is the fourth election to be held in the country since the end of a decade-long civil war and the first to be fully funded by the country.
