Burkina Faso’s transitional president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has taken action by removing Lieutenant-Colonel Évrard Somda from his position as the chief of staff of the national gendarmerie.
According to a decree issued on Wednesday, Lieutenant-Colonel Kouagri Natama has been designated as the new chief of staff for the national gendarmerie.
As reported by Abdullahi Hassan, this decision follows the recent thwarting of a coup attempt by the ruling junta on September 27.
