The World Food Programme, WFP on Tuesday warned that Millions of people risk reaching the verge of famine due to the significant reduction in rations distribution.
It said it had already been forced to make massive reductions in almost half of its aid operations worldwide, including in acute crisis areas such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Haiti, and Syria.
In a press release, the UN agency highlighted that an additional 24 million people could fall into a food emergency situation over the next 12 months, an increase of 50% compared to the current level.
