The Nigerian capital Abuja hosted an extraordinary summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States on the Socio-Political situation in Niger.

At the end of the meeting on Sunday, the leaders demanded the release and reinstatement of Mohamed Bazoum as the legitimate president, dismissing any claims of resignation.
