Mauritania is again asking Mali to rejoin the G5 Sahel organization, after the transitional government in May 2022 withdrew from the regional military alliance fighting against jihadist groups.
The call on Monday was made by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani in Nouakchott at the opening of the 4th session of the General Assembly of the Sahel Alliance.
The alliance is a platform of 27 bilateral partners and donors created to mobilize international aid for the development of the region.
