GAMBIA: Health authority confirms outbreak of H5N1 bird flu

Health authority in the Gambia has confirmed High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza HPAI type H5N1 bird flu in wild birds.

The confirmation came following laboratory test results conducted in Dakar, Senegal.

Authorities say about 490 wild birds have been confirmed dead adding they are taking steps to prevent it from spreading.
