On July 30, 2024, Ghana’s Parliament passed the Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act, a historic law aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women in governance and decision-making.
After nearly three decades of advocacy, the law was signed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on September 19, 2024, marking a significant step toward gender equity.
