29th edition of Burkina’s Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival opens

The 29th edition of the Ouagadougou Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival (FESPACO) opened on Thursday with the Republic of Chad as the guest country of honour.

The event is planned to end on March 1.

On the sidelines of FESPACO, the 22nd International African Cinema and Audiovisual Market (MICA) and workshops will be held Yennega, according to a statement from the ministry of culture.

The ambition of these workshops is to strengthen the role of the festival as a gateway supporting the emergence of new talents in the main value chains of the film industry, financing and finalization of film projects of the continent to make them more competitive and visible on the international market.
