In Ghana, 23 traveling students were on Thursday involved in a road accident along the Dodowa – Shai hills road.

Local media JoyNews revealed that the students were heading to Anum Secondary School.

Confirming the incident, Principal Emergency Medical Technician, Issah Kpanbey said due to overspeeding, the driver could not stop the vehicle after the tyre burst, causing the car to somersault.

According to kpanbey, most of the 23 students on board sustained serious injuries and were conveyed to the Dodowa District Hospital.

He said the hospital authorities have called for reinforcement because the casualties there, are almost overwhelming their staff.
