More than 13,200 schools in eight West African countries have closed, warns the United Nations in West and Central Africa.
The number of school closures has almost doubled over the past four years of insecurity according to a report authored by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The report also revealed that the education of approximately 2.5 million children is in immediate jeopardy.
