The World Food and Agriculture Organization says global food prices decreased to a nearly three-year low in 2023.

The decrease marked the lowest level since 2021, led by substantial declines in prices of sugar, vegetable oils, and meat.

FAO food price index is a trade-weighted index that tracks international market prices of five major food commodity groups.
