This edition of the programme, zooms in on the development in Sierra Leone.
Recall residents of Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone, were awoken by gunshots on Sunday morning of November 26.
Early in the week, it was not clear what informed the gunshots, but it was later confirmed by the government that this was a coup attempt.
The government said Armed men had tried to break into armoury at a military base near the president’s home, then attacked two of the city’s main prisons, releasing some of the inmates.
The president has vowed to prosecute the gunmen – but what was their motive? Were they inspired by military takeovers in Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea? Are the population getting more agitated and in need of quick development?
