Today, February 13 is World Radio Day, a UNESCO International Day celebrated annually since it was adopted in 2011.

This year’s World Radio Day theme is Radio: A Century informing, entertaining, and educating.

This is apt as the opportunity provided by the 100-year-plus milestone of Radio, having achieved extensive virtues and potency, deserves to be trumpeted at full volume.

World Radio Day offers a chance to promote international cooperation between radio broadcasters, to encourage major networks and local radio stations to foster access to information and freedom of expression.
