The World Health Organization (WHO) has raised concerns over the alarming spread of Mpox across the African continent, with Uganda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo identified as the epicenters of the current outbreak.
According to WHO reports, Mpox has now been recorded in at least 20 African countries, with infections and casualties exceeding the 10,000 mark as of December 15, 2024.
The viral disease’s rapid spread underscores significant public health challenges, and the WHO is calling for heightened surveillance, improved access to medical care, and swift measures to curb its transmission.
